FROM KRAKÓW TO PERTH
Our family’s journey began ten years ago when we moved from Poland to Australia in search of a better, more relaxed lifestyle. We’ve truly found it here. We love the easy-going, family-friendly vibe, beautiful beaches, amazing weather, and unique wildlife. Australia is our home now, but a part of our hearts will always belong to Poland.
Last year, we returned to Poland for a family visit, and that’s where I discovered Me & Bags, a small family-owned brand in Kraków. My nieces were wearing their handbags, which immediately caught my attention. The unique designs, eco-friendly fabrics, and incredible functionality were unlike anything I’d seen before. I couldn’t resist buying two different styles to bring back to Australia.
To my surprise, every time I wore those bags, women would stop me to ask where they were from. Their curiosity and disappointment at not finding them locally got me thinking. With my daughter, Zuzanna, becoming more independent, I realised it was time for me to create something meaningful for myself.
family roots, global reach
Combining my passion for sustainability, design, and supporting small artisans, I decided to become the first and only exclusive Australian stockist for Me & Bags, bringing their beautiful creations to Australian women through Beyond The Bag. My loved ones were supportive from the start and quickly became involved in the business. They helped with everything: choosing the name, selecting brand colors, designing the logo, and even picking our first product range. Before we knew it, Beyond The Bag had become a family business and I couldn’t be happier!
